We are a partnership between the University of Leeds, the University of York, the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and a wide range of industry, charity and governmental partners. We are providing training across a wide range of the science remit of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Our vision is to train the next generation of environmental scientists to tackle the global environmental science questions of the future. We provide training to equip our PhD students with the skills needed for a wide range of careers.

We provide a multi-disciplinary science and training environment across our two closely located campuses. Using the synergies within and across our departments in Earth and Environment, Geography, Chemistry, Biology and the Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratories we are providing the perfect training environment for excellent PhD students.

The University of Leeds and the University of York have been collaborating on PhD training as part of two previous Doctoral Training Partnerships (SPHERES, Panorama) and successfully trained more than 200 PhD students for a wide range of careers since 2014.
