Thomas Smith

Biography:

I am a postgraduate researcher aiming to model and evaluate hydro-climatic suitability for Malaria at a variety of spatial scales. Prior to this academically, I completed a Masters by Research at the University of Leeds, where my research focused on estimating the aerodynamic roughness of the Hintereisferner glacier through Structure from Motion Photogrammetry (SfM) and investigating how this changed spatially and temporally. Professionally, I have spent 8 years working in a variety of educational contexts from alternative provisions in Leeds to an international school in Kuala Lumpur attempting to instil a passion for Geography and the natural world in the students that I taught. I am a keen sportsperson, currently I am mainly playing basketball, running and climbing the odd mountain.
