Atmospheric Chemistry PhD Studentship

We have one remaining studentship available for a project based at the Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratories at the University of York.

• ‘Home fee rated’ applicants only
• September 2026 start
• Fully funded studentship UKRI studentship, including full tuition fees, tax free stipend and research training and support grant (RTSG)
• Cohort based PhD training programme

• Change in Methane and VOC emissions in the North Sea area and measurement of potential inland anthropogenic sources
• Effect of net zero agricultural practices on air pollution
• Understanding atmospheric oxidation in the marine tropical atlantic
• Understanding the mechanisms of heterogeneous radical chemistry on organic surfaces
• Very short-lived chlorine, bromine and iodine-containing halocarbons (VSLH): Understanding the role of the oceans in ozone layer chemistry
