Biography:
I am a PGR at the Institute of Applied Geoscience at the School of Earth and Environment. My project examines metamorphic and metasomatic controls on volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit mineralisation across the Alps, with a view to better understanding how regional metamorphism impacts ore grades across an orogenic belt. I work with some unusual and truly spectacular rocks, in a region that has been mined since the Neolithic period.
I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2024 with a masters in Earth Sciences, where my research focussed on REE mineralisation in metasomatic aureoles around Loch Borralan, Northwest Scotland. I have also worked on a project with the university examining regional metamorphic controls on Variscan tin-tungsten mineralisation in Cornwall, have been involved with assessing large-scale lithium mining projects across Canada and Australia, and spent a year as a geotechnical engineer prior to my PhD.
